How to Join the Virtual Queue for Guardians of the Galaxy or TRON

A virtual queue is in place for EPCOT’s newest attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and the Magic Kingdom's newest attraction, TRON Lightcycle/Run. Guests will need to use the My Disney Experience app to enter the attraction. A standby queue is not available. Each Guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day during regular park hours. View important information about the virtual queue.
Guests may also purchase Individual Lightning Lane entry for these attractions, so you could choose either option or BOTH if you want to ride twice! If you are not starting in the corresponding park, but park hopping to the park, then the Individual lightning lane will be your only option.
Guests must have valid admission and a theme park reservation to join the virtual queue. There will be 2 daily opportunities to request to join the virtual queue:
- 7:00 AM (Guests do not need to be in the park when they join, but must have a theme park reservation for the particular park)
- 1:00 PM (Guests must be in the park to join the virtual queue at this time)
Extra opportunity for Deluxe Guests - An additional opportunity to request to join the virtual queue will be available at 6:00 PM on select dates during extended evening theme park hours, a benefit for registered Guests staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort, Disney Deluxe Villa Resort or other select hotels. Guests with this benefit do not need to be in the park to request to join at that time.
HOW TO JOIN THE VIRTUAL QUEUE:
The virtual queue has limited availability, so you will need to be quick on the draw to get a boarding group. Check out these tips and photos for the best chance of success. Steps 1-5 should be completed prior to 7am.
Step 1
Make sure you have the required park reservation (if needed), then tap the menu icon in the bottom right corner.
Step 2
Tap “Virtual Queues”
Step 3
Tap “Join Virtual Queue”
Step 4
Tap “Confirm Your Party”
Step 5
On this next screen, tap “Edit” if you need to make any changes to your party. Once you have your party set up, you will wait here until it is time to complete steps 6 and 7.
Step 6
You should tap “Refresh” at 6:59:59 rather than waiting for 7AM. The fraction of a second delay can be the difference. You need to use a World Clock on an additional phone so you can time it just right.
Step 7
Tap Join Virtual Queue. Tap it as fast as you can. Don’t even think. The button will be in the exact same spot at the refresh button, so basically you just be tapping twice. DO NOT HESITATE or you will miss out!
Step 8
If luck is on your side, this will be your next screen! You will receive a notification when your group is called. You can then head over to the attraction within the hour. You will have to scan your MagicBand, MagicMobile, or card to enter the attraction. Even if you do everything perfectly, it’s still a game of luck. You can always try again at 1pm, or try to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane.
