Exploring Japan: A Cherry Blossom Adventure
Hi fellow travelers and adventure seekers! I'm Tiffiney, and I specialize in curating unforgettable travel experiences, blending adventure and luxury across Asia, the South Pacific, and Europe. Over the years, my journeys have taken me from riding in the back of a pig truck in China, hitch-hiking Australia's eastern coast, to navigating snowy terrains in Croatia. There was a time when there was nowhere I wouldn’t go and nothing I wouldn’t do!
This in mind, the thrill of crafting bespoke adventures for clients is my passion.
Recently, I had the pleasure of planning a dream trip for a family of four during Japan's iconic cherry blossom season. This is a season beloved by many, but also notorious for its crowds. Knowing this, I immediately connected with a trusted in-destination supplier that offers round-the-clock support. Trust me, being in a crowded country with limited English and no support can turn a dream trip into a nightmare.
Together, we crafted an incredible itinerary starting in Tokyo and winding through several cities en route to Osaka. My clients were accompanied by knowledgeable English-speaking Japanese guides who not only assisted with navigating public transport but also shared insider tips into Japan's rich culture.
Their adventure began with a local ramen immersion and some classic tourist activities like Mario Karting through Tokyo's neon-lit streets. They explored Shibuya Crossing, wandered through anime districts, and indulged in the immersive wonder of teamLab exhibits. Of course, no trip to Japan during cherry blossom season would be complete without catching a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji, which graciously revealed itself in full splendor, which is a rare sight!
Their journey continued with visits to pagodas, the historic Fushimi Shrine, a touching stop in Hiroshima, and even some hands-on experiences like a ninja class. Not to mention the excitement of Universal Studios Japan, adding a dash of fun at the end of a busy 9 days!
I had the pleasure of asking the high school graduate for whom this trip was a gift to share her thoughts. Here’s what she had to say, with a few questions from me to guide the way:
Q: What surprised you most about Japan?
A: Japan was surprising to visit as it was super clean, efficient, and futuristic. It was amazing to see how different it was from the US.
Q: What did you love most about Japan?
A: Everything! The nature was incredible and beautiful, the food was different and delicious, and the atmosphere was neat and clean.
Q: Did the country/culture meet your expectations?
Japan met my expectations and more. It is a place that I truly want to go back to in the future.
Q: What’s one thing someone should know before visiting Japan?
A: In Japan, don’t tip. Instead bow and say thank you to show your thanks! Also, bring a rain jacket and not your poncho, you’ll get laughed at and looked at like you’re crazy.
Q: What was the highlight of your trip?
A: The highlight of my trip was all the cherry blossoms. Going in April was the best decision as falling cherry blossoms are something that you’ll never forget.
Q: If you had an all expenses paid chance to go back which area would you want to revisit and why?
A: If I could go back to Japan I would do the same thing we did again and more. I would visit Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and way more and stay for extended periods of time. It truly is a place that I couldn’t get enough of.
Curating experiences like these remind me why I fell in love with travel in the first place. It’s not just about visiting places; it’s about creating moments that become cherished memories for a lifetime. Whether you're dreaming of cherry blossoms in Japan or another corner of this incredible world, I'm here to turn your travel dreams into reality. Stay tuned for more adventures and travel tips from around the globe!
Until next time,
