Adults Only All-Inclusive: The Ultimate Getaway | Secrets Riviera Cancun
When searching for the perfect adults only vacation, are you looking for a romantic getaway or do you prefer more of a party vibe? How about the best of both worlds? That is exactly what you will find at Secrets Riviera Cancun and Breathless Riviera Cancun.
This unique all-inclusive resort is the home to Secrets, the quiet, romantic side of the resort, and Breathless, the more energetic side of the resort. We celebrated our 20 year wedding anniversary at this beautiful luxury resort located in the Riveria Maya area of Cancun, and our experience was nothing short of amazing! Let’s dive into the details of this luxury resort and spa, and our incredible stay here!
Details of the Resort:
Secrets Riviera Cancun is an all-suite resort located about 30 minutes from the Cancun International Airport. When staying on the Secrets side of the resort, you will be pampered with exclusive Preferred Club Benefits, which includes unlimited dining and drinks, personalized service, access to Breathless Riviera Cancun, and more. Secrets has one private pool that is only accessible to those guests, while also offering access to the two additional private pools offered on the Breathless side of the resort. Secrets guests enjoy access to an exclusive restaurant, along with the other nine restaurants offered on the Breathless side for a multitude of gourmet delights. There are also multiple bars and daytime and nighttime activities for endless entertainment. This is a smaller resort, so everything is very walkable.
Our Stay:
Upon arrival, we were directed to the Preferred Club Lounge for our check-in process, where they requested to see our passports for identification purposes, and we were offered a welcome beverage of our choice from the Preferred Club Lounge Bar. We were given very detailed information about the resort, dining options, and the various activities available. We were then introduced to our concierge and escorted to our rooms. The concierge was very nice and accommodating, and gave us a WhatsApp number for contacting her directly for any of our needs during our stay.
We stayed in a beach view room with a king sized bed and a jetted tub on the balcony. The room was nicely appointed with a huge tiled shower, small sitting area, very large tv, and a stocked mini bar with waters, beer, some snacks and a couple small bottles of liquor. The room was also stocked with an array of soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, sunscreen, slippers and robes, which we loved using! The mini bar was restocked at least once daily, and the concierge was very helpful with any other requests we had. The bed and pillows were so incredibly comfortable, and the room stayed at a nice temperature, so we never felt too hot in the Cancun heat.
Food & Drinks:
We stayed for 5 nights, and had such a large selection of restaurants that we were not able to experience them all. We really enjoyed all of the restaurants, however the Asian themed rest aurant, Silk City, was so good, we did have that twice; once for hibachi and once for the regular menu. The buffet on the resort was great for breakfast and lunch, but lacked a little during dinner time, but this was likely due to the number of other restaurants available to choose from.
The bars were always easy to get a drink, and the staff was always very nice. We enjoyed most of our drinks by the pool and loved the different mixed drinks that were offered daily. Since the Preferred Club Lounge was only open to Secrets guests, we found that to be a great place to get quality service and drinks very quickly. Another popular hit with us was The Nook Café for coffee, ice cream and other treats.
Entertainment and Extras:
Every night there was some sort of entertainment planned, and we enjoyed most of the shows offered. There was an array of entertainment from broadway style music and dance to acrobatics and a light show. We also enjoyed live music at various times throughout our stay, as well as a themed beach dinner and fire show one night. On the Secrets side of the resort, the daytime activities included trivia by the pool, water aerobics, soap making, a painting craft and wine tasting, so there was never a shortage of things to do.
The spa at the resort offered some wonderful pampering services and smelled heavenly every time we went to the well equipped fitness center for our daily workouts. We decided to book a couples massage, that came with a complimentary hydro therapy session. The hydro therapy session was a little comical, as we had never experienced that before, and found it very difficult to stay in place on some of the therapy spots. We also found some spots to be quite nice and relaxing, while others were just not our cup of tea. We finished out our spa experience with the massage, which was so relaxing that I fell asleep!
Overall Review:
We absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Secrets Riviera Cancun! We most enjoyed being able to lazily hang around the pool every day without worrying about kids and entertaining them. I truly cannot remember a time where we have ever had such a relaxing vacation. The food and drinks were great, and the staff was wonderful. We enjoyed the Secrets pool the most, as it was chill and great for relaxing, but we liked being able to walk around to the other pools on the Breathless side when we wanted to experience something a little more energetic with some good music. The perks to Secrets Riviera Cancun and being an automatic part of the Preferred Club gave us the opportunity to experience extra amenities that we normally would not pay for, and I can tell you that it definitely spoiled us! Now when we book our next all-inclusive, I know that we are going to want to upgrade to the preferred club whenever we can – it made such a huge impression on our overall experience!
